AutoIdaho.com is an automotive classified engine and listing service. With AutoIdaho.com Idaho locals can search participating local dealerships inventory or list their own car for free. Currently there are only a few participating dealers left. I worked the automotive industry for a few years, developing the site, importing inventory into SQL Server, taking pictures and building satellite dealership website's using a common automotive manager. In the end I decided to go back into Multi Media Web Development due to not having any financial backing and making the mistake of not having a financial partner going in. At one point I had 30 participating dealerships, a state wide gas watch system going, almost 4,000 local vehicles listed with photos and 8,000 total compared to the Idaho Statesman with a measly 1,300 listings at the time. What did me in was lack of promotion. I spent all the money I had working AutoIdaho then doing web development on the side to pay the bills. I was spending about 80 hours a week between my Blink Media web design business and AutoIdaho.com. It was a blast but in hind sleight I wish I had a money partner so all my work of signing automotive dealerships, tracking gas prices and building the portal would have paid off in a big way. Local people can find vehicles, make a blind offer, apply for financing, print maps, compare vehicles with photos side by side find automotive services and online only vendor coupons. Web based automotive classified database, the web application enables several satellite automotive website's to be maintained by independent car dealers without a web developer using a web based automotive inventory management system.
